Here's the thing, racing fans: Kansas Speedway is officially on deck this weekend for both the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Both series are continuing The Chase presented by Mobil 1.
For the premier Cup Series, this 1.5-mile track is hosting the fourth of 10 postseason races. It also marks the very first of three consecutive races scheduled at 1.5-mile tracks. Teams in this top-flight category are bringing eleven total sets of tires: eight new sets for the race itself, two sets dedicated to practice, and one set for qualifying that ultimately transfers over to the race. Race day is set for Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on USA Network.
Meanwhile, the Craftsman Truck Series is tackling its second of seven Chase races at the same venue. The truck competitors will operate on a slightly different rubber allocation featuring five total sets of tires: three new sets for the race, one for practice, and a single set for qualifying that also transfers directly to the race. The trucks take to the track for race day on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET on FS1.
