Here is the thing about learning how racing machinery actually works: you have to get your hands dirty. Students enrolled in the Diplomatura de Motorista ACTC did exactly that during a recent hands-on training day hosted at the facilities of TEA (Taller Escuela de Automovilismo).
The task at hand was nothing less than the complete teardown of a Cherokee multi-valve engine. Working step by step through the semi-assembled block and the cylinder head, the students dove straight into the mechanical reality of the beast.
Guiding the classroom through the greasy, beautiful intricacies of the machine was Mariano Oyhanart. Alongside him, educators Martín Gil Bicella and Juan Manuel Fernández lent their expertise and knowledge to help the students understand every single component, its technical characteristics, and how it performs under pressure.
