F1 points system 2026
Formula 1 awards points to the top ten finishers of every Grand Prix, from 25 for the winner down to 1 for tenth place. Sprint races pay the top eight, from 8 points down to 1. The same points count for the Drivers’ and the Constructors’ championships.

Good to know
- The bonus point for the fastest lap was dropped from 2025; only finishing positions score.
- A race stopped before full distance pays reduced points on a sliding scale: nothing under two laps, then a share that grows with the distance completed.
- Ties are broken by the number of wins, then second places, and so on.
