MotoGP points system 2026
MotoGP awards points to the first fifteen riders of every Grand Prix, from 25 for the winner to 1 for fifteenth. Since 2023 every weekend also has a Saturday Sprint over half distance that pays the top nine, from 12 points down to 1. Both count toward the riders’ championship.

Good to know
- A rider can score up to 37 points in a weekend: 12 in the Sprint plus 25 on Sunday.
- The teams’ title adds the points of both riders; the constructors’ title only counts the best bike of each brand in each race.
- Moto2 and Moto3 use the same 25-to-1 scale but have no Sprint.
