A major shift at Yamaha as Quartararo and Rins prepare to depart
It is official: the landscape at the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team is set for a massive overhaul. Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has announced that both Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins will conclude their collaboration with the squad when the 2026 MotoGP season comes to a close.
Fabio Quartararo has been a pillar of the project since joining the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP project in 2019. In that time, he has secured 11 race victories, 32 podiums, and the 2021 MotoGP World Championship title. As Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director Paolo Pavesio noted, he will always remain one of the true legends of the team.
Alex Rins brought his own experience to the table upon joining in 2024. According to Pavesio, he provided meaningful insight and played an important role in the development of the YZR-M1 machine. While the team looks toward the future, the focus remains on achieving the best possible results together until their departure.
