A new Dutch chapter: Zandvoort welcomes Formula E's GEN4 era

The 2026/27 Formula E season is set to be absolutely wild, with the series confirming that the fabled MASCOT Zandvoort Circuit will join the calendar. This is an old-school, uncompromising machine of a track, famous for its 18-degree bankings and blind elevation changes. It is the perfect place to debut the brand-new GEN4 era.

Zandvoort has seen legends like Alberto Ascari, Jim Clark, Jacky Ickx, Nicki Lauda, and most recently Max Verstappen carve their names into history. Now, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship finally steps onto the Dutch coastline to write its own chapter. It is about time we brought this technology to such a storied venue.

While this is the series' first visit to the Netherlands, the country has left its mark on Formula E before. Robin Frijns, who started his journey with Andretti in Season 2, became a staple of the paddock with two race wins and 14 podiums. Then there is Nyck de Vries, who dominated with the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team to take the first official FIA World Championship title before later returning to the series with Mahindra Racing.
