Ai Ogura sidelined for Aragon grand prix following training injury
Here is the thing, amigo: just as we return from the second mini summer break, the garage doors open with some brutal news. Ai Ogura of the Trackhouse MotoGP Team has picked up a left-hand injury while training over in Japan. That is an absolute disaster for the rider and the squad.
Upon arriving back in Europe, medical checks revealed a fracture close to his left thumb that simply cannot be ignored. It demands immediate attention. The team confirmed that the Japanese rider is scheduled to undergo surgery on Thursday this week.
Naturally, that forces him to miss the upcoming Aragon GP this weekend. A tough break for the rider, quite literally.
Stepping into the breach for the weekend is Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori. He will take over substitute duties while the recovery gets underway. Get well soon, Ai!
