Here is a stunning opportunity for a rising talent. Alexia Danielsson has officially been locked in as the Wild Card entry for Round 5 of the 2026 F1 Academy season, taking her place on the grid in Austin.
The Swedish driver will represent TeamViewer, serving as the series' Official Partner entry. Her single-seater journey began back in 2022 when she stepped up from Aquilia Formula 1000 into Nordic 4 two years later, eventually taking her maiden victory in the series last season. She didn't stop there, winning on her debut in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia in 2025 before putting together a points-scoring rookie campaign in the F4 CEZ Championship this year. She also proved her pace at last week's F1 Academy Rookie Test in Navarra, bagging the second-fastest time overall.
The 17-year-old will climb behind the wheel of the #45 TeamViewer operated by Hitech machine. That car will carry a striking special edition livery celebrating TeamViewer’s Forward Together campaign, featuring 250 inspiring women to showcase how communities support women's career progression in sports and tech.
"It has been an absolutely incredible few days," said Danielsson. "First, to be given this opportunity by McLaren and then to perform so well at the F1 Academy test was more than I had dared hope for."
She continued, "And now it is also official that I will race as a Wild Card in F1 Academy during the United States Grand Prix, which feels absolutely amazing. Racing at COTA in front of such a huge crowd, right in the middle of a Formula 1 weekend, will be an experience I will never forget and something I can build on going forward."
Danielsson is looking at the bigger picture too, noting that her primary goal is learning as much as possible while aiming for a full-season grid spot next year. Karin Fink, Head of Commercial Operations at F1 Academy, noted the importance of the communities that inspire change for women on and off the track. Meanwhile, Faith Wheller, VP of Brand and Sports Partnerships at TeamViewer, expressed excitement about supporting young talent and seeing the livery in person this October.
