Cadillac Hertz Team Jota confirms Alex Lynn return and Ricky Taylor for Cota

Here is some brilliant news for endurance racing fans: Alex Lynn is finally coming back to the cockpit. Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has officially confirmed that Lynn will rejoin the squad for the final two rounds of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign. That means we will see him back in action for the 6 Hours of Barcelona, running from 16 to 18 October, followed by the 6 Hours of Monza between 6 and 8 November.

Unfortunately, a persistent neck issue kept him sidelined for the opening part of the season, forcing Louis Delétraz to take his place at both Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans. But thankfully, the Briton underwent successful surgery in June. He is now pushing through a structured rehabilitation and car-based recovery programme. Lynn brings serious pedigree to the #12 V-Series.R machine, having triumphed alongside his team-mates in last year's Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo alongside his four pole positions in the headlining Hypercar category. As Lynn himself put it, "I've had a long and thorough rehab period and over the coming weeks and months, I'll be getting 'race fit' through a combination of physio, training, testing and sim work to make sure I'm at my best come Barcelona."

In the meantime, the squad needs a driver for next month's Lone Star Le Mans at Texas' Circuit of The Americas. Enter none other than Ricky Taylor. The two-time IMSA champion will jump into the #12 crew for the sixth outing of the season on 4-6 September. Taylor is already familiar with the Anglo-American alliance, having driven for them at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed and later participating in the annual FIA WEC Rookie Test in Bahrain last November.

This upcoming event marks the 37-year-old's first non-Le Mans FIA WEC appearance in almost a decade, though he did finish on the LMGTE Am podium on home soil in the World Championship behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Corvette back in 2016. He also recently placed ninth alongside brother Jordan Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque with Cadillac WTR at La Sarthe just over two months ago. "I've always been a big fan of the team and it was great working with them this year at Le Mans as a team-mate car," Taylor shared. "I know Will and Norman well from their time with WTR, COTA is an amazing track and it will be great to go back to Austin."
