Here is the news we have been waiting for: the entry list for the upcoming Lone Star Le Mans at Circuit of The Americas in Texas has officially landed. This is round five of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship campaign, scheduled to take place on 4-6 September. Following the series’ annual summer break, the championship fires back up in Austin for the second overseas event of the season. We are looking at a 5.513km, 20-turn track that has delivered some unforgettable moments across FIA WEC's previous eight visits.
History hangs heavy over this grid, with six of the current Hypercar stars boasting previous victories at COTA. Team Peugeot TotalEnergies driver Loïc Duval took the win in the inaugural edition back in 2013 on his charge toward the World Championship crown with Audi. Meanwhile, TOYOTA RACING’s Brendon Hartley put on a clinic by going undefeated for three consecutive years from 2015 to 2017 while driving for Porsche.
The pedigree runs even deeper down the pit lane. AF Corse drivers Robert Kubica and Yifei Ye tasted success for Ferrari in 2024. Genesis Magma Racing team leader André Lotterer triumphed back in 2014 with Audi, and the current Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA duo of Earl Bamber and Norman Nato have both climbed to the top step of the podium in the Lone Star State.
There are also some crucial lineup shuffles worth noting for Austin. Nato will team up with Will Stevens and two-time IMSA champion Ricky Taylor in the #12 V-Series.R. Over in LMGT3, sister GM brand Corvette welcomes the return of Nicky Catsburg to the #33 TF Sport Z06 alongside Jonny Edgar and Ben Keating, after Catsburg missed the previous round due to a clashing commitment.
We also see Eduardo Barrichello slotting back into the Heart of Racing Team’s #23 Aston Martin Vantage following his absence last time out in São Paulo. The stage is set at COTA, and the machines are ready to roll.
