Cadillac sets the pace at the halfway point of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen

The Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen has reached its halfway point, and it’s the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R that has commanded the race. After Jack Aitken converted his pole position into a dominant opening stint, he, Earl Bamber, and Frederik Vesti have kept the car out front. It’s been a high-pressure environment, with five full-course cautions already interrupting the flow of this classic endurance battle.

While the Cadillac maintains its authority, the No. 93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing w/Curb Agajanian Acura ARX-06 has remained a persistent threat. Renger van der Zande put in a heavy shift behind the wheel before handing the machine over to Kaku Ohta, with Nick Yelloly waiting in the wings. Elsewhere, the drama is real: the No. 911 Manthey Porsche 911 GT3 R saw its day effectively end after contact exiting Turn 6, while a messy incident involving cars 23, 60, and 81 under caution has taken two GTP contenders out of the running.

In the classes, the battle is equally intense. The No. 04 CrowdStrike Racing by APR ORECA leads the LMP2 field after a perfectly timed pit cycle, while Ben Barnicoat has pushed the No. 14 Vasser Sullivan Racing w/Dreyer & Reinbold Lexus RC F GT3 to the front of GTD PRO. Over in GTD, Eduardo “Dudu” Barrichello is currently steering the No. 27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo at the head of the pack. We are only three hours in, but the toll the circuit has already taken is clear.
