Corvette "couldn't ask for better momentum" going into cota

Here's the thing: Corvette could not possibly ask for a better run of form as it rolls into its home event on the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship calendar at Texas' this weekend, running from 4-6 September. The machine and the team are sitting pretty at the summit of the LMGT3 class title battle, hunting down a stunning third win in a row.

That momentum is wild. Back in June at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the #33 TF Sport Z06 GT3.R fought its way up from 17th on the grid to claim victory. Then, just four weeks later at Interlagos, the sister #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF entry replicated that exact result. That double-punch sent the Anglo-American alliance straight into the annual summer break leading the championship standings.

To add to the confidence, this current-iteration Corvette is already a proven winner at COTA, having triumphed there in the GT World Challenge in both 2024 and 2025, continuing a lineage where three generations of the all-American sportscar have prevailed at the venue.

“We’re all very excited for Sunday’s race, especially with it being our home round of the FIA WEC season,” commented Corvette Racing Programme Manager, Andrea Hidalgo. “It’s a big deal for us, everyone at TF Sport and the fans who will be watching, and obviously we couldn’t ask for better momentum coming into the event.

“Everything is clicking together nicely – the performance of the drivers, the engineering preparation and strategy as well as the execution and set-up by the crew.

“This event will be a challenge, as it always is. The competition will be tough but so will the extreme heat both on and off the track. The way the team is able to manage that through the car, the tyre degradation and themselves will go a long way toward finding success – and more points.”

The #33 crew features , and Texas’ own , who arrive in Austin occupying the top three spots in the Drivers’ classification in the fiercely-disputed, production-based category. Last year in the wet at COTA, the trio struggled for pace—prompting Englishman Edgar to muse that "a lot went wrong" and it was "one of those days"—but Keating is hopeful of better fortunes 12 months on.
