Drugovich penalty ruins Andretti one-two
It is absolutely brutal for the Andretti garage. They were celebrating their first-ever one-two finish in Formula E history, only for the stewards to step in and snatch it away. Drugovich was slapped with a five-second time penalty for avoidable contact with Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein at Turn 9, and just like that, the dream result turned into a disaster.
This decision drops Drugovich to fifth. It is a massive missed opportunity for a team that has been grinding in this series since day one. With the penalty applied, CUPRA KIRO’s Pepe Marti is promoted to second—his career-best finish after a previous P3 in Monaco—and Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries inherits third position.
Everything shifts now to the next double-header. The series heads to the Shanghai International Circuit for Rounds 12 and 13 on 4 and 5 July, a venue that will prove vital as the season reaches its final stretch.
