Formula E heads to the iconic Shanghai International Circuit

The all-electric championship is touching down at the Shanghai International Circuit for the next chapter of a title fight that is finally reaching the business end. With only six races remaining in the 2025/26 season, the series is set to tackle a shortened, clockwise layout of this world-famous venue, a track masterminded by Hermann Tilke that takes the shape of the character “上”.

It is a fast, flowing beast of a circuit that leaves zero room for error. The mix of high-speed straights and technical corners is demanding enough on its own, but the strategic placement of the ATTACK MODE activation zone on the outside of the Turn 2 right-hander will surely create some wild moments.

We know from last season that the weather here is a massive variable, with rain already having played a disruptive role in the past. That unpredictability is exactly what makes this venue so special, often throwing the form guide out the window and delivering surprise podium finishers. The action kicks off with Free Practice 1 on Friday, 3 July, leading into a double-header race weekend that will almost certainly shake up the standings.
