Formula E prepares for an American expansion at COTA

The 2026/27 Formula E season is set to deliver an incredible expansion, bringing the electric series to three iconic new venues: Brands Hatch, the MASCOT Zandvoort Circuit, and, perhaps most excitingly, the Circuit of The Americas (COTA).

COTA is a genuine masterpiece of modern circuit design, carved into the rolling hills outside Austin. Designed by Hermann Tilke, the track is rightfully famous for its dramatic elevation changes and a layout that draws inspiration from the greatest circuits in the world. It is a bold, challenging stage for the debut of the GEN4 machines.

Formula E has been building its American legacy for years, from the inaugural race in downtown Miami to recent stops in Oregon, New York, and California. We saw the intensity of this competition firsthand at the 2026 Miami E-Prix, where Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans took a stunning 15th career victory. He climbed from 9th on the grid in damp, difficult conditions to claim that win. With Miami remaining on the schedule for 2026/27, fans will get to see the series race in Austin just a fortnight after the Florida round.
