Formula E set to conquer Brands Hatch for 2026/27 season
The world of Formula E is about to get a whole lot more legendary. For the 2026/27 season, the championship is bringing the GEN4 era to three iconic venues: the Circuit of the Americas, the MASCOT Zandvoort Circuit, and the one that really makes the heart race—Brands Hatch.
Brands Hatch is a genuine roller-coaster of a track, tucked away in the Kent countryside. It is a place that demands respect and punishes any driver who loses focus. It is fitting that as the circuit celebrates its centenary in 2026, it will kick off its second century by hosting the future of electric racing. Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds described it as an incredible, under-utilized circuit, while MSV Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer noted that the performance of the new GEN4 car will be perfectly suited to the venue.
Some familiar faces on the grid already know exactly what to expect from the track. Jean-Eric Vergne, the series' only back-to-back champion, claimed the British Formula 3 title after competing there in 2010. Dan Ticktum also holds fond memories of the venue, having secured back-to-back podiums in the 2015 MSA Formula Championship. It is a bold new chapter for the championship, blending cutting-edge electric performance with one of the most beloved classic circuits in motorsport.
