Imsa and Road America announce new date for 2027 Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix
Here is a scheduling shift you need to know about for the future. The 2027 Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix weekend has officially been moved to the weekend of August 5-8, 2027, according to an announcement from officials at IMSA and Road America.
Why the change? According to Road America President and General Manager Mike Kertscher, the new August dates serve to reduce overlap with other major events happening across Wisconsin during one of the busiest stretches of the summer. Announcing the dates now ensures everyone has more time to adjust their plans accordingly.
The four-day event will once again bring North America's premier sports car racing series to the legendary four-mile circuit. The weekend's main event will be the six-hour Motul SportsCar Endurance Grand Prix race for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. That marquee race will once again feature as part of the five-race IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup schedule, alongside additional racing, fan activities, and opportunities to get close to the cars and drivers.
Demand has been climbing steadily. IMSA President John Doonan noted that fan turnout at Road America has grown substantially over the past few years, capped by an all-time record for their first six-hour endurance race earlier this month. Doonan expressed confidence that giving loyal fans enough runway to make or alter their plans will secure another amazing turnout for the weekend in 2027.
For those who have already bought in, tickets purchased for the 2027 event at the advanced price of $140 will remain entirely valid for the new dates. Fans are encouraged to take advantage of this special four-day pricing while it lasts, as it is only available for a limited time, and anyone with questions about existing orders can reach out directly to the Road America ticket office.
