
Jack Aitken leads Watkins Glen practice for Sahlen's Six Hours
Jack Aitken piloted the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R to the top of the timing sheets in the first practice session for the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen. Aitken's best lap of 1 minute, 33.846 seconds bested Renger van der Zande and Tom Blomqvist, who were second and third respectively in the GTP class.
In the LMP2 category, Dane Cameron in the No. 99 AO Racing ORECA LMP2 07 recorded the fastest lap. Meanwhile, Valentin Hasse Clot led the GTD class aboard the No. 068 Car Blanche Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, also setting the quickest time among all GT cars. The GTD PRO class saw Christopher Mies in the No. 65 Ford Racing Ford Mustang GT3 emerge as the leader.
The session was the first of two practice periods before qualifying, with teams working to dial in their cars on the 3.4-mile Watkins Glen circuit ahead of Sunday's endurance race, which is the third round of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup.
