Johann Zarco set to return for Aragon GP with Castrol Honda LCR

Here is some genuinely brilliant news for the paddock: Johann Zarco is heading back to the grid. Castrol Honda LCR have officially announced that their rider is primed for a return to competition at the Michelin Grand Prix of Aragon, though his participation is still subject to passing the mandatory medical examination at the circuit.

Fans will remember that the #5 has been absent since the Catalan GP. A heavy crash in Barcelona forced him onto the sidelines to heal from left knee ligament injuries. At the time, Zarco and his medical team decided to bypass surgery, penciling in a potential return for September. But his recovery accelerated faster than expected in recent weeks, bringing his much-anticipated comeback forward.

The path back wasn't easy, of course. Zarco steadily ramped up his workload during rehabilitation, putting himself through the paces on both a supermoto and a Honda CBR1000RR. That intense preparation paid off, giving him the all-clear to travel to Aragon.

Now, all that stands between the #5 and a full-scale return to action is Thursday's mandatory medical review at the track. If he passes, he will reunite with Castrol Honda LCR and pick up right where he left off.
