Nascart heads to World Wide Technology Raceway for the second postseason round

Now, the battleground shifts directly to the 1.25-mile track in Madison, Illinois. Following a thrilling weekend at Darlington Raceway, World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway stands ready as the second postseason contest for the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in The Chase presented by Mobil 1.

Here's the thing about this venue: current Chase points leader Denny Hamlin arrives as the defending winner in the Cup category. Meanwhile, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series is guaranteed a brand new victor this time around, seeing as Connor Zilisch took home the honors at this event last season.

Action kicks off soon for both categories. The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series takes to the track for race day on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on The CW, working with a strict tire allocation of five total sets—three new sets for the race, one for practice, and one for qualifying that transfers over to the race itself.

Then, Sunday brings the NASCAR Cup Series race at 3 p.m. ET on USA Network. These machines will have twelve total sets of tires at their disposal, broken down into nine new sets for the race, two for practice, and a single set for qualifying that also transfers directly to the race.
