Here's the thing about the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series: after tackling the high banks of Talladega Superspeedway, the field now has to deal with the tight, unforgiving short-track confines of Martinsville Speedway. Saturday's showdown marks the eighth of nine Chase presented by Mobil 1 contests and the 32nd points-paying event overall, airing at 4 p.m. ET on The CW, ESPN Unlimited, MRN Radio, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. And if you need a reminder of what short-track survival looks like here, Taylor Gray is the defending Martinsville fall winner.
Now, at the sharp end of the standings, Jesse Love is holding all the cards. The defending O’Reilly champion and current Chase points leader arrives with a 19-point edge over 2024 O’Reilly champion Justin Allgaier in the title table, following Sammy Smith’s recent victory at Talladega Superspeedway. That is a serious margin to manage with the elimination pressure ratcheting up.
Speaking of Allgaier, the No. 7 JR Motorsports pilot is looking to keep his momentum rolling in the right direction at “The Paperclip.” And honestly, his track record here speaks for itself: two career wins, eight top fives, and 10 top 10s across 12 career O’Reilly races at the venue. That is the kind of consistency that wins championships.

Unfortunately, not everyone's championship dream is still alive heading into this weekend. Five O’Reilly Series Chase drivers have already been eliminated ahead of Martinsville: Gray, Austin Hill, Brandon Jones, Parker Retzlaff, and Rajah Caruth.
When the dust settles on Saturday, thirty-eight race cars are entered into the event, all fighting for survival on the iconic short track.
