Now, if you appreciate a proper racing engine, you are going to want to sit down for this. As Speedcafe reports, Ford has just dropped an eleven-minute video showcasing its brand-new, as-yet unnamed Hypercar prototype stretching its legs, and the machine sounds simply magnificent. That 5.4-litre Coyote V8 roar is something else entirely, putting it right up against the Cadillac V-Series.R as the only other V8-powered beast in the championship.
Here is the thing: the Detroit motoring giant is properly coming back for endurance racing's ultimate prize. They are bringing two Hypercars to the top class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2027, and they are already lining up the talent to do the job. Australia's Matt Campbell has officially been named as one of the team's six drivers for the 2027 campaign.
The development schedule for this machine is moving at a serious pace. Following a recent hit-out at Monza, the squad is packing up and heading to Spain to continue testing at Aragon. We do not have long to wait for the proper unveiling either, with an official launch date locked in for November 26.
