Pedro Acosta dominates Friday practice at Balaton Park
Pedro Acosta was simply in a league of his own during Friday’s session at Balaton Park. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider was the only man to dip into the 1’36 range, clocking a 1’36.827 to finish more than four tenths clear of the rest of the field. It was a beautiful display of control as ‘The Shark’ put his stamp on the Hungarian GP ahead of Sprint Saturday.
While Acosta held court, the battle behind him was chaotic. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) and Raul Fernandez (SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team) rounded out the top three, representing three different manufacturers in the process. Further back, the intensity was palpable as riders like Brad Binder (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) saw their hopes of a top-ten spot vanish with a late crash, while heavy hitters like Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) struggled to find the pace required to stay out of Q1.
