Here is the beauty of racing: right when you think you know the script, someone rewrites it entirely. Scott Ogden went out and claimed pole position for the British GP, marking the very first time a home hero has ever qualified on Moto3 pole at this venue. And as if that was not wild enough on its own, it turned into a CIP Green Power 1-2 with Adrian Cruces slotting right into second place.
Let me tell you how it happened at the end of the session, because Ogden locked in and started painting the screens in red sectors. He was a tenth and a half up halfway round, keeping that machine tucked in cleanly all the way to the line to seal a stunning pole position. Valentin Perrone, riding for Red Bull KTM Tech3, rounded out the front row in third after setting the pace on Friday.
Unfortunately, the day brought sheer disaster for Maximo Quiles from the CFMoto Valresa Aspar Team. The championship leader took a brutal highside off a flying lap right before the deciding moments unfolded, ending up in the medical centre where a broken collarbone was confirmed. He will now miss race day entirely, though at least he sits on a massive 104-point lead as he begins the road to recovery.
Behind that breathtaking front row, David Almansa representing Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP, Alvaro Carpe with Red Bull KTM Ajo, and Adrian Fernandez of Leopard Racing stacked up to fill out Row 2. Right behind them sat Brian Uriarte for Red Bull KTM Ajo—the very rider trailing Quiles by those 104 points—alongside Kiwi rider Cormac Buchanan competing for CODE Motorsports after matching his best qualifying result yet. Hakim Danish from AEON Credit - MT Helmets – MSI locked down the final spot on Row 3 ahead of Joel Kelso for GRYD Racing.
Now, that sets up a proper showdown for Sunday. Be ready for the lights to go out at the later time of 14:30 (UTC+1) for the Moto3 race round at Silverstone.
