Shanghai E-Prix schedule adjusted due to weather
It is a disaster when the elements decide to play a role in our sport, but that is exactly what is happening in Shanghai. With heavy weather forecasted for July 4 and July 5, officials have been forced to scramble and officially amend the sporting schedule for Rounds 12 and 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The priority here is safety, and the organizers have made the move to shuffle track timings to protect fans and personnel alike. A spokesperson for the series noted that the decision was made in conjunction with the FIA, teams, and manufacturers to ensure the best possible spectacle remains on the table for the fans in China.
Everything is moving around, so take note: Free Practice 2 and 3 sessions will now be held behind closed doors. On both Saturday and Sunday, qualifying is set for 08:00 local time, with the main races starting at 12:05 local time. Public gates are scheduled to open at 07:30 on both days.
