The 2027 grid so far hasn't brought the seismic changes some expected, but there are still some interesting vacancies. As The Race reports, let's look at the confirmed seats for F1 2027 so far.
At McLaren, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have both inked long-term deals with McLaren that should keep them both at the team until at least the end of 2027 - and in Piastri's car, the end of 2028.
Over at Mercedes, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli were only confirmed for 2026 in October 2025, and nothing beyond 2026 was communicated within that announcement, although multi-year deals with various options can be triggered for extensions. So while not officially confirmed for 2027, there's no reason to believe the line-up will change.
Red Bull keeps Max Verstappen, who back in 2022 signed a deal to keep him at Red Bull until 2028 and ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix he extended that deal to 2030. Verstappen's new 2026 team-mate Isack Hadjar received a new deal announced just before his return after a wrist injury, in Baku.
Ferrari features Charles Leclerc, who signed a bumper long-term deal in January 2024 for "several more seasons" and signed an extension to that earlier this year, which will keep him at Ferrari well beyond 2027. Lewis Hamilton should remain for a third year.
Williams has locked in Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon, who committed to racing for Williams in 2027 on the eve of the Dutch GP. Meanwhile, at Racing Bulls, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad are Racing Bulls' driver pairing for 2026, but neither knows if they'll be continuing into 2027 yet.
Aston Martin sees Fernando Alonso's contract expire at the end of 2026, while Lance Stroll's place for 2027 isn't confirmed; he's expected to remain. Haas has Ollie Bearman with an option at Haas for 2027, while Esteban Ocon is expected to leave the team at the end of the 2026 campaign.
Audi is secure with both Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, who signed for Audi on "multi-year" deals back in 2024. At the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in September 2026, Mattia Binotto said both drivers were contracted at the team for 2027 and that Audi didn't even feel the need to announce the fact.
Alpine features Pierre Gasly, whose deal was extended through to the end of 2028 midway through 2025, alongside Franco Colapinto, whose form was rewarded with a new deal for 2027, just prior to the Italian GP in September 2026. Finally, newcomer Cadillac brings Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, who both signed up for the team on "multi-year" deals from 2026.
