

Weather forecast for the Hungarian Grand Prix
Here is the thing about the Hungaroring: it is hosting the 11th race weekend of the 2026 season, marking the final round before the summer break. Last year gave us a dry race won by Lando Norris, who managed to just hold off his team mate in a thrilling battle that saw the two of them separated by less than a second across the line. Based on the current forecast, another dry race might be on the cards.
Europe has spent much of the summer in the grip of a heat wave, and Hungary has been fairly warm and dry recently. That trend looks set to continue, even though the event has delivered plenty of rain in the past.
Friday, July 24 brings pleasant weather for FP1 and FP2, with temperatures ranging from 14°C in the morning to a maximum of 26°C in the afternoon. N-NW winds will average 13 to 15 km/h, with gusts potentially reaching 40 to 45 km/h. Conditions will stay dry with a 0% chance of precipitation. Under partly cloudy skies, the track temperature may rise to 40 to 45°C, making for favourable conditions.
Saturday, July 25 keeps things pleasant for FP3 and qualifying with a low of around 15°C and a maximum temperature hitting 29°C as high pressure expands over the area. Skies will stay generally clear with little cloud cover and a 0% chance of precipitation. Light winds reaching up to 10 km/h with gusts up to 20 to 25 km/h should keep track conditions stable. That said, warming temperatures could push track temperatures up to 48 to 50°C, posing potential challenges for tyre performance.
Sunday, July 26 brings noticeably warm and slightly humid conditions for the race. Daytime temperatures will range from 20 to 32°C, while the track temperature could peak at around 50°C. There is a 40% chance of precipitation after 1500, but overall, weather interference during the Grand Prix is unlikely since the bulk of the precipitation is currently expected to arrive after the session. Winds will be light to moderate, averaging 10 km/h and peaking at 15 to 20 km/h, with gusts from 35 to 40 km/h.
