YRB Racing prepares for debut at Watkins Glen after acquiring van der Steur Racing
It is a massive shake-up in the paddock as YRB Racing steps onto the grid this weekend at Watkins Glen International. Following the acquisition of van der Steur Racing, the new outfit is wasting no time, entering both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.
This move brings an end to the van der Steur Racing era, a team that spent 6 seasons pushing hard from TCR through to GTD. Christopher Deely will stay on as Team Principal, aiming to translate those years of hard-won experience into immediate success for this new chapter.
To mark the fresh start, the team is running a blank white “Car Blanche” livery in the GTD class at Watkins Glen. It is a stunning, minimalist look for a debut performance, though the team plans to reveal a permanent official livery later in the season. As Deely put it, they are ready to grow with their partners and push for a winning future.
