Here's the thing about racing: you can do everything right on the circuit, but if the machine doesn't have what it needs at the end, the stewards are going to drop the hammer. Following the conclusion of FIA Formula 2 Practice in Baku, MP Motorsport driver Gabriele Minì has been disqualified from the session.
It all came down to a post-session check by the FIA Technical Delegate, who reported that an insufficient quantity of fuel remained in car 9. That report earned the car a summons to the Stewards. The team simply could not provide the required 0.8Kg fuel sample after Practice, triggering a breach of Article 6.3.1 of the 2026 FIA Formula 2 Technical Regulations.
The Stewards heard directly from an MP Motorsport team representative, but the explanation didn't hold up. They ruled that there was no justifiable reason for the infringement and breach of the technical regulations. As a result, car 9 was thrown out of the practice results entirely.
