While devastatingly effective on high-grip circuits in high-downforce machinery, that technique turns hostile when grip evaporates. The reduced downforce and tyre grip of the 2026 regulations mean far more circuits punish that approach, compounding the misery via energy management demands where poor entry momentum shortens straightline electrical deployment.
Yet the parallels drawn across the grid reveal fascinating technical divergences. Verstappen leans on a supreme repertoire of skills alongside an extreme front end that conjures rotation with minimal steering, though the understeer baked into the Red Bull RB22 blunts that weapon.
