Doriane Pin joins Citroën Racing as GEN4 development driver
It is absolutely wild to watch the trajectory of Doriane Pin. The 22-year-old has already conquered the F1 Academy and taken a class victory at the 24 Hours of Spa, and now she is taking her talents to the Formula E paddock. Citroën Racing has signed her as their GEN4 development driver, a move that places her right at the heart of optimizing the next generation of electric racing machinery.
Pin is already deep into the project, having completed her first simulator sessions to refine energy management and software calibration. She describes the GEN4 machine as an instantaneous beast, noting that the power delivery feels like nothing else she has handled before. With the car capable of hitting 335kph and reaching 100kph in roughly 1.8 seconds, the jump in performance is staggering. As Pin put it, it is a very unique machine that requires a totally different approach to corners and braking compared to anything else in her repertoire.
Beyond her new role with Citroën Racing, Pin remains busy across the motorsport world. She is currently competing in the European Le Mans Series with Duqueine while simultaneously serving as a development driver for both the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team and the Peugeot Sport Hypercar program. It is a massive workload, but for a racer of her adaptability, this deep dive into Formula E is exactly where she wants to be.
