Dreamland: Bezzecchi unbeatable for first victory at beloved Mugello

An Italian, in Italy, on Italian machinery, winning at Mugello. It really doesn't get better than this for Marco Bezzecchi. The world championship leader put in a flawless performance to send the home crowd into a frenzy, securing his first victory at a circuit that clearly holds a special place in his heart. The day was even sweeter for Aprilia Racing as Jorge Martin followed him home to secure a massive 1-2 finish for the marque on home soil.

While the front duo commanded the show, the battle for the final step on the podium was pure, heart-stopping racing. Francesco Bagnaia of the Ducati Lenovo Team found himself under intense pressure from the Trackhouse MotoGP Team’s Ai Ogura in the closing stages. The two fought tooth and nail until the very last turn, with Bagnaia pulling off a brilliant cutback to pip Ogura to third by a mere 0.034s at the line.

Further back, the intensity never wavered as the mid-pack scrapped for every inch. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team) fought his way to fifth, narrowly holding off Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) in sixth and Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo Team) in seventh. It was a day where championship margins shifted, with Bezzecchi now holding a 17-point lead over Martin as the series moves to Hungary.
