Ford completes its Hypercar driver roster for 2027
Ford is officially back, and they are not here to make up the numbers. The 'Blue Oval' has finalized its factory driver line-up for its massive 2027 return to the top-tier of the FIA World Endurance Championship, adding Matt Campbell, Tom Blomqvist, and 32-year-old Nick Yelloly to an already impressive roster. They will join the previously announced trio of Logan Sargeant, Mike Rockenfeller, and Sebastian Priaulx to form a six-driver squad tasked with fighting for overall victory.
This is a serious statement of intent from the newly-unified Ford Racing organization. With a chassis developed alongside ORECA and a massive 5.4-litre, naturally-aspirated ‘Coyote’ V8 engine built in Michigan, the machinery is as American as it gets. Mark Rushbrook, the Ford Racing Global Director, made it clear: they are hunting for the top step of the podium.
The talent pool is deep. Campbell arrives with a COTA Hypercar win on his CV, Blomqvist brings his experience as a two-time Rolex 24 At Daytona winner, and Yelloly adds proven pedigree from endurance classics at Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans, and the Nürburgring. The programme kicks off its European track testing schedule this August, with the technical focus firmly on hybrid system integration and aero validation. It is a stunning comeback, and I, for one, cannot wait to see this beast on the track.
