Francesco Bagnaia confirms massive four-year move to Aprilia Racing
It is finally official: Francesco Bagnaia is heading to Aprilia Racing. The two-time MotoGP World Champion has put pen to paper on a four-year contract that will see him pilot the RS-GP starting in 2027, creating an all-Italian lineup alongside Marco Bezzecchi.
This is an incredible statement of intent from the Noale-based manufacturer. Bagnaia brings a staggering CV that includes 41 victories, 86 podium finishes, and 35 pole positions, placing him right up there with legends like Giacomo Agostini and Valentino Rossi. As CEO Massimo Rivola noted, the team is embracing the responsibility of hosting a multiple-time champion, even if they plan to try and beat him on track before his arrival.
The addition of such a titan is clearly designed to bolster Aprilia Racing ahead of the 2027 technical regulation changes. It is a massive move for the sport, and seeing a rider of his stature commit to this project is the kind of drama that defines the premier class.
