Genesis arrives at Le Mans with a volcanic new look
Genesis Magma Racing is going all-in for their maiden 24 Hours of Le Mans, and they’re doing it with a machine that looks absolutely molten. To celebrate their first-ever start in the legendary race, the team is ditching their standard aesthetic for a striking new gradient livery that transitions from a vibrant Magma orange at the nose to a deep, intense red at the tail.
It is a bold move from a brand that only recently managed a competitive eighth-place finish at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Supported by their technical partner HEXIS, the design is meant to capture the light at La Sarthe from the afternoon sun all the way through to the dark of night. The #19 GMR-001 will carry extra white highlights to distinguish it from its #17 sibling, which sticks to an orange and black theme.
Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke calls it an "artful statement," but Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul is keeping his feet on the ground. This is their first 24-hour race, after all, and in the brutal world of endurance racing, the primary goal remains simply surviving to see the chequered flag. It is a massive task for a team that only launched in December 2024, but if the racing performance matches the intensity of this paint job, they might just turn some heads in France.
