Jonny Edgar shines as Corvette claims historic Le Mans win

It was a performance for the history books. Jonny Edgar, at only 22 years old, delivered an absolutely stunning late-race drive to secure a maiden Le Mans victory for himself and a tenth class win for Corvette. With the pressure mounting after a Sunday morning safety car erased a two-and-a-half-minute lead, the Briton was unflappable. He pushed through five consecutive stints in under four hours, expertly managing his Goodyear tyres to keep the chasing pack at bay. His team-mate Nicky Catsburg didn't hesitate to label him the ‘man of the match’ for a drive that could well define his career.

But the foundation for this result was laid by the ironman effort of Ben Keating. Despite nursing an elbow injury sustained only in March, the 54-year-old Texan shouldered the heavy lifting early on. Starting from 17th, Keating completed all six of his mandatory driving hours within the first eight hours of the race. It was a gritty, mistake-free display that set the perfect tone for the TF Sport squad.

This was a historic day for the Tom Ferrier-led outfit, marking their fourth win at La Sarthe. While the race saw fierce competition and extreme heat, the Corvette platform proved its worth in durability and pace. As Programme Manager Andrea Hidalgo noted, the triumph is a testament to the strength of their customer teams.
