Manthey brings a heritage-infused look to the 24 Hours of Le Mans
It is not often you see a machine carry this much history, but Manthey is doing exactly that at the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. To celebrate three decades of their own operations and 75 years of Porsche Motorsport, the team has unveiled a one-off tribute livery that is a visual love letter to the past. The design draws directly from the iconic silver Porsche 356 SL Coupé, the very machine that secured the first of 112 class wins for the manufacturer back in 1951.
This aesthetic is more than just a nod to the old days; it is a bridge. The #91 Manthey DK Engineering Porsche 911 LMGT3 R, driven by James Cottingham, Timur Boguslavskiy, and Ayhancan Güven, along with the #92 The Bend Manthey entry of Yasser Shahin, Riccardo Pera, and Richard Lietz, will wear these colours as they chase another trophy. It is a beautiful way to acknowledge a legacy that dates back to the team's 1999 debut, through their dominant runs in 2013, 2018, and 2022.
As Porsche Motorsport Vice-President Thomas Laudenbach noted, the brand is the only one to have occupied a spot on the Le Mans grid without interruption since 1951. Manthey enters this year’s race with the #92 crew leading the championship, looking for a third consecutive victory. With a history as deep as this, it is fitting that the team is wrapping their current contenders in the story of where it all began.
