Marc Marquez edges Pedro Acosta for pole at Balaton

It was absolute madness at Balaton Park as Marc Marquez, riding for the Ducati Lenovo Team, clawed his way to pole position in a session that defied belief. Despite suffering a low-side slide at Turn 1 early in the session, Marquez didn't blink. He put the hammer down to set a 1.36.785, narrowly denying Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Pedro Acosta by a razor-thin margin of 0.053 seconds.

Fermin Aldeguer of the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP team secured a solid third, though he finds himself three tenths off the blistering pace set by the front two. Behind them, it was a chaotic fight through the pack, with Francesco Bagnaia climbing out of Q1 to eventually snag fifth on the grid. Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, representing Aprilia Racing, lines up sixth, looking to recover from a mistake-filled qualifying run.

Watching the gap fluctuate in those final sectors was nothing short of nerve-wracking.
