Here's the thing about racing drivers stepping outside the racetrack: their machines are designed to survive the worst, but the real world offers no such safety nets. Mauricio Lambiris, a Turismo Carretera driver, recently took part in a road safety workshop held in the province of San Luis to bridge that exact gap.
During the event, the driver displayed his official sporting gear, discussed the specific safety precautions required inside a Turismo Carretera car, and shared his experience from a previous training session with ACTC Educación.

Drawing a direct line between the track and the streets is no simple task, but the driver made it clear that the core mission goes beyond just showing off motorsport machinery. It is about building an understanding of how we all behave on everyday public roads.
“Very nice these initiatives, and it is also important to generate awareness. Although it is a question of showing a little of motorsport, but above all provoking understanding for the public road, which is where we really have to be careful and respect the laws,” Lambiris stated.
The comparison between a controlled circuit and the open road remains stark. Drivers enjoy a fortress of precautions when racing, a luxury entirely absent on public thoroughfares.
“The idea was to show the parallelism that there can be between the sports part and the road part. Above all in safety elements and generating awareness, because we have the luck of being on a circuit with many preventions, which on the public road often does not happen,” the driver affirmed.
To close out the event, expressions of gratitude were directed toward the organizers for facilitating such essential educational programs for young people.
