MotoGP arrives at the technical Balaton Park
It is finally time to see how the machines handle the tight, technical curves of Balaton Park. We are a third of the way through the 2026 season, and the circus has moved to central Europe’s largest lake for the eighth round of the year. After the absolute heroics we saw from Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia Racing last time out, the paddock is buzzing to see if the intensity can keep up at this demanding venue.
There is plenty of drama to watch. Jorge Martin, currently second in the Championship, is dealing with the pressure of an Aprilia 1-2 as he faces his own teammate. Meanwhile, Marc Marquez is downplaying his chances despite his dominant 2025 performance here, and Toprak Razgatlioglu is looking to channel his past winning success in Hungary into a surprise result.
We also see Cal Crutchlow back in action for Castrol Honda LCR, stepping in for Johann Zarco once again. It is a steep learning curve for the Brit, as he has to get to grips with a track that didn't even exist during his time as a full-time rider. The stage is set for the press conference featuring Championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, Ai Ogura, and Marc Marquez to kick off the weekend.
