Silverstone makes a stunning return to the FIA WEC calendar
It is finally happening. The FIA World Endurance Championship is heading back to the UK, ending an eight-year wait to return to the legendary Silverstone circuit. The 6 Hours of Silverstone will officially become the third round of the 2027 season, taking place from 23-25 April.
This is a massive addition to the calendar. The race will slot in between the 6 Hours of Imola and the TotalEnergies 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, as the schedule expands to nine events. Seeing the current Hypercar heavyweights—like Ferrari, Toyota, Aston Martin, Ford, and McLaren—tackle the 5.891km Grand Prix layout will be an absolute masterclass. From the high-speed commitment of Maggots and Becketts to the challenge of Copse and Stowe, this is a circuit that separates the drivers from the heroes.
It is truly poetic to see the series back at the 'Home of British Motorsport,' a venue with half a century of endurance history featuring icons like Jacky Ickx and Tom Kristensen. With the added spectacle of the fiercely competitive LMGT3 field, this 2027 return is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the decade.
