Yamaha confirms end of partnerships with Quartararo and Rins for 2026

It is official: the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team is set for a massive shake-up. Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has confirmed that both Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins will conclude their tenure with the factory squad at the end of the 2026 MotoGP season. It is a significant closing of a chapter for the manufacturer.

Fabio Quartararo has been a cornerstone of the project since 2019, delivering 11 race victories and 32 podiums during his tenure. Most importantly, he brought home the 2021 MotoGP World Championship title. As Managing Director Paolo Pavesio noted, he leaves as a true legend of the marque after an eight-year journey. Alex Rins, who joined the effort in 2024, is also moving on after providing essential development insight for the YZR-M1 project.

While the news marks the end of an era, the team insists their focus remains absolute. Pavesio made it clear that the goal is to secure the best possible results together until their final race concludes at the end of 2026.
