Here is a move that makes complete, undeniable sense for the single-seater ladder. Rodin Motorsport have officially confirmed the signing of Brando Badoer for the 2027 FIA Formula 2 season, keeping the Italian talent firmly inside their racing family.
Badoer arrives in Formula 2 after a robust 2026 campaign in Formula 3 with the very same squad. That season saw him secure eighth in the Drivers' Standings, backed by four podium appearances and a brilliant Feature Race victory on the streets of Monte Carlo.
I’m delighted to continue our relationship with Brando as he takes the next step into FIA Formula 2 next season,
His path to this seat has been built on steady, relentless progression. Back in 2023, he secured sixth place across the Formula 4 UAE, Italian F4, and Euro 4 Championships. That was followed by a fifth-place finish in the 2024 Formula Regional European Championship and a fourth-place result in the 2025 Formula Regional Middle East Championship.
Reflecting on the announcement, the 20-year-old made it clear how much the team means to him. “I’m really happy to be announced as a Formula 2 driver for Rodin Motorsport,” said Badoer. “I’m grateful to the team for the opportunity and the trust they’ve put in me, and after such a great season together, I’m excited to continue this journey. I really feel like Rodin is a family, so I’m looking forward to working with the F2 team, building on what we’ve achieved and creating more great moments together.”
Rodin Motorsport Sporting Director Benn Huntingford shared the enthusiasm for the upcoming promotion. “I’m delighted to continue our relationship with Brando as he takes the next step into FIA Formula 2 next season,” said Huntingford. “He’s shown great progress throughout his first season with the team, securing a race win at Monaco and multiple podiums along the way, while playing a key role in leading our F3 campaign. His performances have shown what he’s capable of and we’re looking forward to seeing him build on that experience as he continues his career in Formula 2.”
