Here is a wild development: Rafael Câmara is stepping into Formula 1 much sooner than anyone expected. The young Brazilian will make his grand prix debut right at his home event in Sao Paolo this weekend, driving for Haas F1 Team.
While the team had previously announced that Câmara would graduate with them in 2027, plans have clearly changed. He is locked in to partner Oliver Bearman for the upcoming weekend at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, jumping straight into the VF-26.
Team Principal Ayao Komatsu made the call clear, explaining the decision comes after a strong showing earlier in the year. "We’ve chosen Rafael Camara to drive alongside Ollie Bearman at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix," Komatsu stated. "Having excelled in his TPC outing in August, we know Rafa’s capabilities and we’re looking forward to welcoming him into the team this weekend and working with him through his Formula 1 debut driving the VF-26 in Brazil."

It is a massive leap for the Brazilian driver, getting the nod to sample the machinery in a competitive grand prix environment far ahead of his previously scheduled arrival. Now, all eyes turn to the garage as Câmara prepares to share the squad with Bearman and face the challenge head-on.
