Here is the grid for the upcoming era of junior single-seaters. The FIA Formula 2 Championship promoters have officially locked in the eleven teams chosen to compete across the 2027, 2028, and 2029 seasons.
Ten familiar operations from the 2026 grid have successfully held onto their places for this upcoming three-year cycle. They are joined by a fresh face: LN4 Fusion, who officially complete the eleven-team line-up.
I am also pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the grid. They will bring considerable expertise, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution to the Championship.
Listing them purely in alphabetical order, the full roster features ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, DAMS, Hitech, Invicta Racing, the newcomers LN4 Fusion, MP Motorsport, PREMA Racing, Rodin Motorsport, TRIDENT, and Van Amersfoort Racing. Each of these eleven outfits will keep running two cars apiece, keeping a solid 22-car grid in place.
FIA Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel pointed to the heavy global interest as proof of the championship's health. He noted that the ten retained squads have consistently proven their dedication to giving young drivers the absolute best environment to get ready for Formula 1.
Speaking on the new addition, Michel added: “I am also pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the grid. They will bring considerable expertise, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution to the Championship.”
