Now, here is a driver who knows exactly what he is up against. Following Round 12 in Baku, MP Motorsport driver Gabriele Minì finds himself fourth in the FIA Formula 2 Drivers' Championship standings. The deficit is clear: he sits 43 points adrift of leader Rafael Câmara with only two rounds left to run in the season.
That said, there is no room for hesitation now. The Alpine Academy talent knows the math does not entirely favour him, which means the strategy must shift immediately from calculation to pure aggression.
"Well, I think the only thing we've got to do is try to do the best as possible," Minì assessed. "So ideally, we'll just try and be in the top three, try and be as far up the order as we can be."
Of course, the Italian acknowledges that the championship battle is no longer purely in his hands. While he has confidence in his own execution, the performance of his rivals remains entirely outside his control. With less to lose than the men at the head of the standings, the goal is simply to squeeze every single ounce of potential out of the machine.

That means starting near the front must be a major focus, as track position makes everything easier. Being the hunter rather than the hunted brings a specific mindset, and Minì plans to lean into that dynamic completely.
"At the same time, it's a better situation to manage. It's a lot about attacking and trying to catch the leaders. We cannot stay where we are and just wait. I did seven or eight overtakes just myself in Madrid and in the whole race, I think there were maybe only two more. So, we have to try and do the same again."
There is no sitting back, and there is no waiting to see how the cards fall. With stops coming up in Lusail and Yas Marina, Minì is ready to force the issue and chase down a superb fightback before the flag drops on the championship.
