Here's something brilliant away from the raw speed on track: Kush Maini has been running a striking new helmet design lately, and it carries a message that goes far beyond racing. The ART Grand Prix driver recently sat down to explain the story packed into his unique lid, which features a direct collaboration with the Akanksha Foundation back in India.
Running for thirty-five years as a non-profit organisation, the foundation focuses on a powerful core belief: that completely reimagining education for a child can lift an entire family out of poverty. For Maini, teaming up with them is a partnership he has always wanted to pursue. The foundation frames its mission around art as a way to give children from tougher communities a level playing field. It provides them with a voice to tell their stories, be seen, and be heard on their own terms. That philosophy is exactly what the driver wanted to bring onto his race helmet.
Using his platform to highlight real talent and real heroes, Maini incorporated specific art pieces created by two girls from the foundation. On top of the helmet, Alfia created a mandala representing peace and calm—a state of mind the driver actively strives to maintain while inside the car. Meanwhile, the side of the helmet features a piece by Aditi, capturing a memory, a bit of home, and what home reminds her of. That theme resonates deeply with Maini, who left home at a young age and carries those roots with him wherever he goes.

Maini is eagerly looking forward to meeting the young artists in person when he returns home, and he expressed immense pride in being part of the initiative. He pointed out that India possesses an enormous amount of talent that frequently gets overlooked simply due to a lack of wealth, opportunity, or platform. By showcasing these designs, this project represents one step closer to evening out that playing field, allowing him to contribute in a small way to a beautiful objective.
