Here is something you do not see every day: Turismo Carretera machines taking over the streets. This Friday, right ahead of the thirteenth round of the Turismo Carretera championship, actual race cars will be roaring through the heart of Rosario on the iconic Bulevar Nicasio Oroño.
The whole operation kicks off at Bulevar Oroño and Avenida Intendente Morcillo, which serves as both the start and the finish for this wild street caravan. The machines will launch from that exact spot, charge up Oroño all the way to Bulevar 27 de Febrero, make a U-turn, and sprint back down the opposing lane of Nicasio Oroño to where they began.
Timing is everything, so mark your clocks. Teams and drivers gather for setup at 17,30 hours, the cars fire up and hit the tarmac at 18, and everything wraps up with a press conference at 19.
Now, let us talk about the machines themselves because the lineup on the boulevard is properly special. We will see the cars of Ignacio Faín, Faustino Cifre, Nicolás Moscardini, and Marcos Quijada out on the asphalt. To make it even better, history is coming along for the ride: the Ford Falcon that once belonged to el Gurí Omar Martínez and the Chevrolet driven by Juan María Traverso will both be present.
Once the rubber stops smoking, the talking begins at the Calendario Floral in Parque Independencia. The drivers stepping up for the press conference are Facundo Ardusso, Gaspar Chansard, Ignacio Fain, Norberto Fontana, Julián Santero, Agustín Canapino, Tomás Pozner, and Faustino Cifre.
