Here's the thing: Juan José Ebarlín expected a completely different 2026 season. Missing out on the Copa de Oro entirely and sitting down in position 34 in the standings, the driver from Benito Juárez is simply looking to right the ship over the three remaining rounds left on the Turismo Carretera calendar.
While attending a TC Pick Up event in La Plata, Ebarlín opened up about a brutal campaign behind the wheel of his Chevrolet Camaro. “No fue un buen año para nosotros ya que tuve que cambiar dos veces de preparador por la cantidad de roturas que tivemos,” he explained. Constant mechanical failures forced him to switch engine builders twice, destroying their trajectory.
Thankfully, a change in direction has brought some relief. “Estamos empezando un camino nuevo con los motores y eso me dejó más tranquilo,” Ebarlín noted, adding that the team is thrashing to rediscover the setup they lost midway through the year.
The next test arrives this coming weekend at the Autódromo Juan Manuel Fangio in Rosario. While qualifying remains critical, Ebarlín believes the venue will deliver an interesting weekend in front of a supportive crowd.
History in Rosario offers mixed memories. The last time Turismo Carretera visited the circuit seven years ago, Ebarlín placed 26th in the first qualifying session, 9th in the second, and 11th overall, though he ultimately failed to complete the full distance in either his heat race or the final.
