Now, this is a brilliant initiative worth shouting about. Matías Rossi, the 2014 Turismo Carretera champion, stepped away from the usual paddock hustle to take part in a road safety workshop, shining a light on why building awareness early matters so much for anyone getting behind the wheel.
For the youngsters just starting to drive around 17 or 18 years old, Rossi pointed out how valuable these sessions really are. The driver from Del Viso highlighted how you can draw parallels between the strict rules we follow on a racetrack and the vital traffic laws that keep everyone safe out on public streets.
Bringing the real world of motorsport directly to the students, the program featured full racing gear to catch their attention before diving into essential traffic regulations. According to Rossi, the kids were completely engaged, paying close attention and firing off plenty of questions.
Calling the program a great initiative from ACTC, Rossi made it clear that reviewing these concepts helps everyone, whether they are brushing up on existing knowledge or learning the rules for the very first time.
